Is Ghislaine Maxwell broke?

One thing we know for sure is that none of her money was used on a stylist.

Ghislaine Maxwell claims to be broke — or at least broke for someone who was raised by a billionaire and is best known for her association with a man worth half a billion dollars.

Before we go further... are you new here? Here's a quick refresher:

Welcome to SCAMDALOUS, a new series where anyone is fair game to our host and TikTok icon Serena Shahidi (aka @glamdemon2004) — from fraudsters, to swindlers, to scammers, to girlbosses, and everyone in between. SCAMDALOUS originally began over on @BullishStudio's TikTok, but now we're bringing the series over to Beehiiv to give you even more SCAMDALOUS — and more Serena — content in your inbox.

Now, let's continue!

Ghislaine Maxwell's trial is finally over. She has been convicted of five federal sex trafficking charges and faces up to 65 years in prison. But, let's take a look back at her trial for a second.

At a 2020 bail hearing, Ghislaine Maxwell claimed she had less than a million dollars in the bank and no monthly income. Like, not even OnlyFans.

Now obviously, she grew up wealthy as her father was media mogul Robert Maxwell. But after his death, creditors found that his company was actually billions of dollars in debt.

Around this time, Ghislaine moved to New York in a $2,000/month Upper East Side apartment and started working in real estate. She lived off of a trust fund set up by her father that paid $100,000 per year.

Her lifestyle changed dramatically, however, when she met her longtime associate Jeffrey Epstein.
